"A work that tells the story of three refugee families full of hope although their lives were difficult in a poor village in Seoul immediately after the liberation; thanks to the drawing technique unique to Director Kim Soo-yong and his directing skill, bright and cheerful atmospheres were added to the original heavy drama. The damaged original film was reborn through digital restoration; thus enabling the visual beauty introduced by Director Kim Soo-yong in the original to be appreciated sufficiently. The sub-brand “Re-creation of Classics,” which carefully selected works that are valuable in terms of the history of movies digitally restored firsthand by the Korean Film Archive and released the works in a DVD, produced the DVD in a dignified three-layer Digipak package. As an appendix, a Korean-English booklet (40 pages) containing direction records written by Director Kim Soo-yong firsthand, recollecting the times when movies were directed, and digital restoration records written by Researcher Kim Gi-ho of the Korean Film Archive was included. The main DVD contains a video comparing before and after the restoration (20 minutes) and an image gallery." (Korean Film Archive)
