Die Modellierung sozialer Konfliktsituationen zwischen individuell rational handelnden Personen als strategische Spiele und die Analyse dieser Modelle mit Hilfe spieltheoretischer Methoden nimmt in der ökonomischen Theorie einen immer breiteren Raum ein. Aufgabe der normativen Spieltheorie ist es, die strategische Unsicherheit, in der sich ein Spieler zum Zeitpunkt seiner Entscheidung befindet, durch Auswahl einer eindeutigen Verhaltensempfehlung aufzulösen. Da strategische Spiele häufig mehr als einen Gleichgewichtspunkt besitzen, kann die Gleichgewichtseigenschaft nur ein notwendiges und kein hinreichendes Kriterium für die Lösung sein. Es werden daher zusätzliche Stabilitäts- und Rationalitätskriterien zur Gleichgewichtsauswahl erforderlich. Anliegen dieser Arbeit ist es, die von Güth und Kalkofen entwickelte Gleichgewichtsauswahltheorie ESBORA (Equilibrium Selection Based on Resistance Avoidance) zu erörtern und weiterzuentwickeln. Das ESBORA-Konzept wird detailliert dargestellt und der Auswahltheorie von Harsanyi und Selten gegenübergestellt. Anhand ausgewählter Beispiele werden das Auswahlverhalten demonstriert und Verbesserungsvorschläge motiviert
