Klimaaktivist*innen diskutieren mit CEOs, Hedgefonds orientieren sich an Nachhaltigkeitskriterien, Social Businesses möchten die Welt verbessern und Wirtschaftsfakultäten richten Ethiklehrstühle ein. Wirtschaftsethik gehört zusehends zum gesellschaftlichen, politischen und akademischen Alltag. Auch in der sozialethischen Reflexion haben wirtschaftsethische Fragen längst den Rahmen einer "Nischenethik" verlassen. Gesellschaftliche, politische, kulturelle und kirchliche Themen erscheinen immer häufiger nicht angemessen bearbeitbar zu sein, ohne die jeweiligen wirtschaftsethischen Implikationen zu berücksichtigen. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist die christliche Sozialethik aufgefordert, "neue Leitbilder für den Fortschritt" (Papst Franziskus) in einer vernetzten und sich rasant verändernden Welt zu entwerfen. Die Texte des Sammelbandes nähern sich dieser Aufgabe aus unterschiedlichen Richtungen. Ein erster Teil versammelt grundlegende Überlegungen zu Themen und Begriffen einer zeitgemäßen Wirtschaftsethik. Der zweite Teil nimmt konkrete Akteure und Handlungsbereiche in den Blick: von Steuersystem, Wohlfahrtsstaat und Altersvorsorge bis hin zu Unternehmensberatungen und Greenwashing.
