Online-Kontaktbörsen boomen, das Internet erleichtert es, früher unvorstellbar viele Bekanntschaften zu machen, wobei der Schutz der Anonymität dem Online-Treuebruch sowie vielerlei "Tollkühnheiten" Vorschub leistet ("Das Netz ist zum gröt︢en Bordell geworden, das jemals existiert hat"). Die Distanz erlaubt die Gestaltung einer Identität, die keiner realen Begegnung standhält. Kaufmann dokumentiert und analysiert Worte und Gesten, Chats und Dates und sieht uns mitten in einer "sanften Revolution - der Banalisierung des Sexuellen". Sex habe heute die Tendenz, "etwas Einfaches, Normales, Lustiges zu werden. Eine Art Freizeitbeschäftigung. Etwas, das man sofort haben kann, ohne sich einen Kopf zu machen". Doch ebenso sachlich und genau, wie er dies ausführt, belegt er auch, dass der Traum von Liebe und die Institution Ehe weiterhin nicht infrage stehen: "Freizügiger Sex ist ein Spass nebenbei". Unterhaltsam lesbare, breit interessierende Wissenschaft schon für mittlere Bibliotheksgrößen. (2)
