Reporter Willi interessiert sich hier für die Themen Strom, Elektrizität und Energie. Ganz zu Anfang fragt er sich: Was ist Strom, wie bringt man ihn zum Fliessen und seit wann nutzt die Menschheit Strom? Dann befasst er sich mit verschiedenen Erzeugungsarten, die heutzutage vornehmlich eingesetzt werden, wie Kohle-, Wasser- oder Atomkraftwerke (bei denen er kritisch die Vor- und Nachteile hinterfragt), er stellt aber auch ausführlich alternative Energiegewinnungsformen vor wie Windkraft, Sonnenenergie und Erdwärmepumpen. Auf den Stromtransport, Stromausfälle und die Gefahren, die von Strom ausgehen, wird ausreichend eingegangen. Die Darstellung ist sehr ausführlich; in manchen Fällen werden Sachverhalte vereinfacht erklärt, alles andere wäre bei einem Kinderbuch auch unsinnig. Trotz allem setzt der Band viel technisches Verständnis beim kleinen Leser voraus. Während andere Titel für dieses Alter sich häufig mit Technik allgemein befassen, in denen die Elektrizität nur kurz zur Sprache kommt (z.B. "Entdecke die Technik", BA 8/03), ist dieser "Willi" ein Unikum. Empfohlen, auch für Schulbibliotheken
