McKay, u.a. bekannt durch die Reihe "Vier verrückte Schwestern" (derzeit nicht mehr lieferbar), erzählt, immer wieder unterbrochen durch eine spannende Parallelhandlung, eine intensive Geschichte über den Umgang mit Verlust und Trauer. Das Happy End am Ende, Binny darf ihren Hund, den sie aufgrund der finanziellen Schwierigkeiten abgeben musste, wieder in die Arme schliessen, gönnt man dem mutigen und ein wenig störrischen Mädchen von Herzen. Ein besonderes Buch für fortgeschrittene Leser, das ich ab mittleren Beständen sehr gerne empfehle. Ab 11
