Zusammengestellt von der Künstlerin und Autorin Julia Kissina (zuletzt "Elephantinas Moskauer Jahre"), die jeden der Autoren mit einer eigenwilligen Zeichnung porträtiert hat, geben diese Texte der sogenannten "Dritten Avantgarde" einen Eindruck von der Vielfältigkeit der Literatur, die, vor dem Hintergrund des Zerfalls der Sowjetunion entstanden, den Genres des "Noir" und des "Lunatismus" (Kissina im Nachwort) zuzuordnen sind. Ein herausragender Text ist zweifellos die Erzählung "Sprung in den Sarg" des Altmeisters Jurij Mamlejew , der als Begründer des metaphysischen Realismus gilt. Was diese Erzählungen von altersmäi︢g und von ihrer Biografie her so unterschiedlichen Autoren wie Jurij Mamlejew, Andrej Monastyrski, Vladimir Sorokin oder Polina Barskova und Maria Sumnina verbindet, sind Antirealismus, Exzentrik und eine Lust am Tabubruch, die hier in all ihren Varianten durchdekliniert werden
