Content:
In many respects, the Domus Conversorum, the converts' house in London, was a unique institution. Founded in 1232 by King Henry III, it was dedicated to the welfare of Jews who had converted to Christianity, thereby forfeiting all of their worldly possessions. Converts were in a very precarious situation. This study addresses English conversion policies in general and examines the role of the Domus Conversorum in the care and welfare of converts.
