Eine erstaunliche Fülle an populärwissenschaftlich aufbereitetem Stoff bietet dieses Bändchen, das sich vornehmlich an interessierte Laien wendet; durch seinen teilweisen Kompendium-Charakter aber durchaus auch Schülern der Sekundarstufe I empfohlen werden kann. An zahlreichen Alltagsbeispielen werden physikalische Sachverhalte, u.a. aus Mechanik, Elektrizitätslehre, Kernphysik, Quantenmechanik, Relativitätstheorie und Kosmologie anschaulich erklärt. Sehr schönes Layout und durchgehend farbig gestaltete Abbildungen. Die 11 Hauptkapitel sind von außen am Buchblock optisch zu erkennen. Interessante historische Bezüge sind in die Darstellungen mit eingebettet und am Ende des Buches geht es dann mehr philosophisch um "Die Grenzen des Wissens". Eine Liste der Physik-Nobelpreisträger rundet die Darstellung ab. Populärwissenschaftliches zur Physik hier zuletzt u.a. J. Baker und W. Gruber (beide BA 6/09) sowie H. Graßmann und G.-L.
