Diesen Mythos dekonstruiert Christoph Kucklick mit einem systemtheoretischen close reading kanonischer Texte zum Geschlechterverhältnis aus der Zeit um 1800. Er bringt eine ganz andere Redeordnung ans Licht: die negative Andrologie, in der der Mann als abschreckendes Produkt der Modernisierung erscheint: als gewalttätig, unmoralisch und triebgesteuert. Sogar Fichtes Deduktion der Ehe - bislang gelesen als Manifest des Machismo - kann so neu verstanden werden: als Anleitung zur Zivilisierung der "bösen Männer".
