In der Gegenwart wird der steinreiche 90-jährige norwegische Unternehmer Axel Krogh in Saint-Tropez ermordet, in seinen Rücken ein Kreuz geschnitten. Der Osloer Kriminalkommissar Bogart Bull, der Frau und Tochter verloren hat, wird innerhalb von Europol nach Frankreich entsandt, um die dortigen Kollegen bei der Aufklärung des Falls zu unterstützen. Von Ingeborg Krogh, der Ex-Frau des Mordopfers, erfährt Bull, dass Axel einen Bruder hat, Alex Krogh. Wurde der Unternehmer vielleicht verwechselt? Mit seiner warmen, einfühlsamen Stimme lässt Sprecher Thomas Meinhardt den norwegischen Kommissar eher als trauernden Ehemann und Vater denn als toughen Ermittler klingen.
