In kurzen Sequenzen lässt die Autorin Calle zu Wort kommen. Ein Anruf von der Mutter: Die Großmutter befindet sich auf der Intensivstation. Eine Nachricht, die den Jugendlichen erschüttert, seine Wahrnehmung ist geschärft, Erinnerungen an den Tod des Vaters und Großvaters kommen hoch. Er betrachtet in seiner Kamera die gespeicherten Fotos von der Großmutter. Seine Gedanken, Gefühle, Beobachtungen, Schilderungen des Alltags mit Bruder und Mutter hält er in knappen, prägnanten Sätzen fest, fast so, als würde er uns, den Lesern, seinen "followers", Mitteilungen posten. Nach den Besuchen im Krankenhaus schwankt er zwischen Verzweifeln und Hoffen. Die Operation ist erfolglos, es wird zur Gewissheit, dass die Oma sterben wird. Parallel dazu zieht ihn das Leben an, da ist die neue Nachbarin, das Mädchen mit dem roten Schal, sie weiß nicht, dass er sie beobachtet. Ein Buch über den Tod und das Leben, intensiv, aber leise, unaufdringlich. Der Leser wird durch Calle zum Zeugen der Vorgänge und versteht. Mit diesem Buch wurde die Autorin für den schwedischen "Augustpris" nominiert. Für alle Bibliotheken empfohlen.
