Der folgende Beitrag stellt die Vorbereitungen zu einem Dissertationsprojekt am Lehrstuhl für Digital Humanities der Universität Passau dar und möchte das Potenzial von photogrammetrischen 3D-Digitalisaten für die Disziplin der Architekturgeschichte hinterfragen und einordnen. Dazu wird das photogrammetrische 3D-Digitalisat des Innenraums der St. Georgskapelle auf der Veste Oberhaus in Passau als Objekt und Werkzeug betrachtet und seine digitalen Darstellungseigenschaften – hinsichtlich Raumschale und Architektur, Licht, Schatten und Farbigkeit, Materialität sowie Räumlichkeit und Interaktion – mit der Betrachtungssituation vor Ort in der Georgskapelle verglichen.
