"Primus ist ein Mann mit großen Visionen und noch größeren Niederlagen. Am größten aber ist bei ihm die Abneigung gegen alles Fremde. Die vielen Flüchtlinge, von denen allseits die Rede ist, kommen ihm trotzdem gerade recht. Sein Pleite gegangenes Hotel im Norden Norwegens soll dank ihnen doch noch zur Goldgrube werden, denn sie können hier kostengünstig zwischengelagert werden. Und dafür winken saubere Subventionen aus der Staatskasse. Seine Frau Hanni und Tochter Oda trauen ihren Augen nicht, als ganze Busladungen in das Hotel einmarschieren, in dem Zimmer, Türen, Heizung und Strom fehlen. Nicht vorbereitet ist Primus auf die diplomatischen Verwicklungen, die nun auf ihn lauern: Christen weigern sich mit Arabern, Sunniten mit Schiiten das Zimmer zu teilen. Der optimistische, aber etwas vorlaute Abedi erweist sich als unverzichtbarer Vermittler und wird für den Einzelgänger Primus schnell zum ständigen Begleiter. Doch dann fordert die Ausländerbehörde auch noch Sprachkurse und einen Kooperationsrat, sonst gibt es kein Geld. Bald hat Primus, der verzweifelt versucht, die Kontrolle zu wahren, den Ruf eines Diktators, die Flüchtlinge bezeichnen ihr neues Zuhause als Guantanamo und die xenophoben Einheimischen winken mit den Fäusten. Heilloses Chaos scheint vorprogrammiert, dabei hat Primus längst etwas gewonnen, worauf er gar nicht aus war: einen Freund trotz aller Unterschiede. Die skandinavische Komödie nimmt Vorurteile geschickt aufs Korn und lässt uns in Norwegens Bergen die brisante Gegenwart mit anderen Augen sehen. Mit viel Witz und Warmherzigkeit gelingt Regisseur Rune Denstad Langlo (NORD) ein Stück schwarz-humoriges Kino, eine wilde und bereichernde Schlittenfahrt auf dem glatten Eis globaler Verwicklungen."
