Abhängig von den Jahreszeiten und den Wanderungen seiner Jagdbeute bewegte er sich durch verschiedene Landschaften und passte sich unterschiedlichsten Klimabedingungen an. Vor 12.000 Jahren, mit dem Ende der letzten Eiszeit, vollzog sich ein fundamentaler Wandel: Der Mensch wurde sesshaft, errichtete Siedlungen mit festen Gebäuden, begann Getreide anzubauen und Vieh zu züchten. Diese jungsteinzeitliche Revolution steht am Anfang der modernen Zivilisation nicht nur in Europa und ist zugleich Ausgangspunkt für viele Errungenschaften, aber auch Probleme unserer Gegenwart.
