"Quand il arrive en France en 1921, Man Ray est hébergé par Marcel Duchamp qui le présente aux artistes dadaïstes et avant-gardistes : Louis Aragon, André Breton, Jean Cocteau, Robert Desnos, Paul Eluard, Philippe Soupault, Tristan Tzara... À l'invitation des mécènes Marie-Laure et Charles de Noailles, il réalise en 1929 un film à Hyères dans leur villa créée par l'architecte Robert Mallet-Stevens. Puis, c'est avec Pablo Picasso et Paul Eluard qu'il passe ses vacances sur la Côte d'Azur à la fin des années 1930. Entre amis, ils profitent du soleil et de la plage, vivent leurs amours et créent. Man Ray ne cesse de photographier et réalise un court film, en couleurs, à la Garoupe avec ses amis. Une parenthèse enchantée avant le grand bouleversement."--Page 4 of cover
