Da kriechen junge, halbnackte Mädchen aus den Schößen der Umhänge von Priestern und müssen sich befingern lassen. Darf sich die Kunst auch über tief empfundene religiöse Gefühle hinwegsetzen? Keiner hat diese Frage krasser beantwortet als der Österreicher Hermann Nitsch. Der nackte Körper, Blut, Fesselung. [...]. Was passiert, wenn provokative Kunst und Islam aufeinandertreffen? Auf der Biennale in Venedig sollte 2005 die Kaaba, das größte Heiligtum aller Muslime, zum Kunstobjekt werden. Ausgedacht hat sich dieses Werk der deutsche Künstler Gregor Schneider. Auch der Amerikaner Andres Serrano eckte massiv an. Er tränkte seine Motive mit Blut und Urin und fotografierte sie. Heraus kam: "Piss Christ". Auch der weltbekannte Fotograf David LaChapelle äußert sich in der Dokumentation. Er bildet Heilige ab, inszeniert alles. Mit Schwarzen, Schwulen, weiblich oder sexuell aufgeladen. Der Film macht deutlich: Glaube und Religion sind als Thema immer noch ein hohes Wagnis für die Kunst." [tv-info.de]
