Ce livre propose une rencontre inédite entre deux peintres belges majeurs de l'après-guerre: Walter Leblanc (1932-1986) et Jef Verheyen (1932-1984). Issus de la génération anversoise de G58 et proches du mouvement international ZERO, tous deux ont poussé la peinture au-delà de ses limites. Avec l'anti-peinture, Leblanc a conquis l'espace et le mouvement. Par ses monochromes qui sensibilisent, Verheyen entendait stimuler l'intériorité des spectateurs. Trop tôt disparus, ils ont consacré leur vie à l'espace et à la lumière.
