Man ist zerrissen: Die Augen wollen schnell vorankommen, Worte überspringen, um dem Geheimnis schneller auf die Spur zu kommen. Das Herz und die Seele gehen in der Zeile wieder zurück, um die Atmosphäre und die Liebe zum Detail aufnehmen zu können und zu genießen. Die Trauer, Tablettensucht, die Bigotterie der 1950er-Jahre, Tokio, die Zeit nach dem 2. Weltkrieg in Japan, alles wird wunderbar verwoben zu einem großartigen Roman. Unbedingt zu empfehlen. Lee wurde bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet.
