Dieser Film stellt eine kleine Montessori-Schule in Niedersachsen vor, die sich auf dem Weg zu einer kindgerechten Gestaltung von Schule und Unterricht gemacht hat. Während andere Montessori-Filme meist die Dimension Freiheit hervorheben, widmet sich dieser Beitrag auch dem Aspekt der Steuerung.

Dieser Film stellt eine kleine Grundschule in Rotenburg/Wümme in Niedersachsen vor, die sich auf dem Weg zu einer kindgerechten Gestaltung von Schule und Unterricht gemacht hat. Im Mittelpunkt des Films steht die Gratwanderung zwischen "freiem Lernen und Steuerung", d.h. zwischen den Polen Freiheit und Bindung. - Der Norden Deutschlands zählt nicht zu den Hochburgen der Montessori-Pädagogik. Deshalb wird diese Schule in der Gründungsphase vom breiten Engagement aller Beteiligten getragen. Es wird auch keine Montessori-Umsetzung in Perfektion gezeigt, sondern eine innovative und sympathische Schule, die noch auf dem Weg ist. Doch es lassen sich bereits charakteristische Merkmale der Montessori-Pädagogik identifizieren: Dazu zählen u.a. die offene Eingangsphase, der jahrgangsübergreifende Unterricht und die Förderung von Selbsttätigkeit in einer didaktisch vorbereiteten Umgebung. - Sparsam kommentiert lässt dieser Film lieber die Bilder sprechen. Ein Film, der deutlich macht, was eine junge Montessori-Schule ausmacht und viele Anregungen gibt. Insbesondere dann wenn es darum geht, wie Schule mit anderen Lehr- und Lernformen gelingen kann.
