Fünf Eigenkompositionen, umrahmt von Coverversionen unterschiedlichster Herkunft - eine ganz persönliche Liebeserklärung von Ida Sand an ihre Familie, an die Musik und an die Welt. Eine ćwahre Liebe̮, die man nur erwidern kann. Fündig wurde Ida Sand diesmal nicht nur bei den alten R&B-Recken wie Dewey Bunnell ("Ventura Highway"), Robbie Robertson ("The Weight") und Allan Toussaint ("Who's Gonna Help Brother Get Further") oder Klassikern wie "Loverman". Die besonders in der Kombination verblüffenden Trouvaillen sind Neil Youngs Pop-Klassiker "Heart Of Gold", Jimi Hendrix' wüster Rock-Aufschrei "Manic Depression" und Bob Marleys aufrüttelnde Reggae-Hymne "Redemption Song". Allesamt aber sind sie hier kaum wiederzuerkennen, ganz auf die Melodie reduziert und instrumental völlig neu zusammengesetzt. Bob Marleys Lied zum Beispiel haben wir bewusst komplett anders angelegt. Denn es wäre ja schrecklich, wenn wir wie eine Coverband klängen. (www.jpc.de)
