TON-W Roya ("Fantasie" auf Farsi) ist eine Sammlung von 11 Titeln, die die charakteristische Mischung aus traditionellen und modernen Rhythmen und retro-persischen Klängen bereichern. Die Musik ist ein magisches Portal, ein gewölbtes Tor zu einem Ort des Friedens, der Freude und der ungehinderten, den Tschador schwingenden Freiheit. Liraz und ihr israelisches Sextett (drei Frauen, drei Männer) nahmen Roya zehn Tage lang in Istanbul auf, in einem Kellerstudio, das vor den Augen der Öffentlichkeit verborgen war und vor Kreativität nur so sprühte. An der Violine, der Bratsche und der Tar, der iranischen Holzlaute mit Wespentaille, waren Komponisten und Musiker aus der iranischen Hauptstadt Teheran beteiligt. Es waren dieselben anonymen Musiker, die zuvor mit Liraz online zusammengearbeitet hatten, ohne Fragen zu stellen und ohne ihr Gesicht zu zeigen, unter dem Radar der Teheraner Geheimpolizei, für ihr gefeiertes Album Zan aus dem Jahr 2020. Spieler, die undercover von Teheran nach Istanbul gereist waren, um mit Liraz und dem Produzenten und Multiinstrumentalisten Uri Brauner Kinrot persönlich zu arbeiten. Es gibt eine Verbindung zwischen unserer Zunge und unserem Herzen, die die Geheimnisse der Welt und der Seele bewahrt", schrieb Rumi, der größte Sufi-Mystiker und Dichter in persischer Sprache, dessen Prosa Liraz sehr schätzt. Solange unsere Zunge verschlossen ist, ist der Kanal offen, und in dem Moment, in dem unsere Zunge sich öffnet, schließt sich der Durchgang.
