Content: This documentary tells the story of the first image captured of the Earth from space in 1968. Told solely by the Apollo 8 astronauts, the film recounts their experiences and memories and explores the beauty, awe, and grandeur of the Earth against the blackness of space. This iconic image had a powerful impact on the astronauts and the world, offering a perspective that transcended national, political, and religious boundaries. Told 50 years later, EARTHRISE compels us to remember this shift and to reflect on the Earth as a shared home. Official Selection at the **Tribeca Film Festival.** Winner of the Audience Award at the **AFI Documentary Film Festival.**

Content: In 1968, NASA sent three men farther and faster than anyone had gone before. This is the story of how Astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders changed history on the flight of Apollo 8. *"This is a film that will revive all your childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut." - Jennie Kermode, **Eye for Film***

Content: Extras: - Commentaries by Ron Howard and Jim and Marilyn Lovell. The best supplement in my opinion are these two commentaries, both of which are intimate, personal and filled with exceptional detail. - Lost Moon: The Triumph of Apollo 13 (58:06) is an excellent documentary which as ood as it may seem does indeed highlight the unexpected success (after disaster) of the flight. - Conquering Space: The Moon and Beyond (48:26) is a generic look at the space race to the Moon. It's interesting, but it can't hold a candle to When We Left the Earth and other Blu's from last year. It is better than A&E's Moonshot. - Lucky 13: The Astronauts' Story (12:14) interviews the real life men who are portrayed in the film. - U Control, Universal's pop up feature, offers two interesting sidebars to the main feature, The Apollo Era, giving some socio-cultural context for what was going on back then in the world at large, and Tech-Splanations, which attempts to get us layman dummies to understand what the frell Harris and Sinise are screaming about.

Content: New Dolby® Digital 5.1 sound mix. Audio commentary by producer-director Al Reinert and Apollo 17 commander Eugene A. Cernan, the last man to set foot on the Moon. Paintings, with audio commentary, by Apollo 12 and Skylab astronaut Alan L. Bean. NASA audio highlights and liftoff footage. Optional onscreen identification of astronauts and mission control specialists. English subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired.
Content: In July 1969, the space race ended when Apollo 11 fulfilled President Kennedy's challenge of "landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth." No one who witnessed the lunar landing will ever forget it. Al Reinert's documentary For All Mankind is the story of the twenty-four men who traveled to the moon, told in their words, in their voices, using the images of their experiences. Forty years after the first moon landing, it remains the most radical, visually dazzling work of cinema yet made about this earthshaking event. (Covertext)
