Content:
Die drei großen monotheistischen Religionen eint ein überwältigender und bis heute nahezu ungebrochener Konsens über die strukturelle Gewalt an (nicht-menschlichen) Tieren. Diese Gewalt kann ritueller Natur sein, aber auch als Deutungsgewalt gegenüber den vermeintlich seelenlosen Tieren Wirkung entfalten. Beide Formen stellen nicht nur das friedliche Selbstverständnis der Religionen in Frage, sondern verlangen insbesondere nach analytischen Antworten, die die über lange Zeit hinweg als selbstverständlich aufgefasste Gewaltförmigkeit der Religionen problematisieren. Auf diesem Weg tragen sie zugleich zur Überwindung dieses theologisch- und religiös-legitimierten Speziesismus bei.
