Die Inszenierung von Recht steht aktuell im Fokus verschiedener Disziplinen: Einerseits werden kulturelle Inszenierungsmodi und spezifische Formen von Ritualität auf ihre Prägekraft für das Recht hin untersucht. Andererseits werden institutionalisierte Praxen der Rechtsfindung vermehrt daraufhin befragt, wie sie in anderen kulturellen Feldern Modellcharakter gewinnen. Dabei steht indes nicht so sehr die Frage im Zentrum, ob Recht einen Inszenierungsaspekt beinhaltet, sondern vielmehr, wie dieser sich auf die Wahrnehmung, die Anwendung und die Wirksamkeit abstrakter Rechtsnormen auswirkt. In der Rechtswissenschaft wird die Inszenierung von Recht demgegenüber vergleichsweise selten thematisiert und wenn doch, dann häufig bestritten. Grund hierfür ist die Befürchtung, dass die Annahme inszenatorischer Anteile des Rechts dieses zu unterminieren drohe. Das Verhältnis von Recht und Inszenierung erweist sich insofern als spannungsreich. Ausgehend von diesem Befund wird im interdisziplinären Dialog von Rechtswissenschaft, Theaterwissenschaft, Philosophie und Kunstgeschichte den verschiedenen Funktionen und Modi der Inszenierung von Recht sowie den bestehenden Interaktionen zwischen Recht und anderen kulturellen Feldern nachgegangen. Hierdurch gelangen die Herstellung und Wirkung von Recht, verschiedene Formen seiner Inszenierung sowie sein medialer Auftritt in den Blick. So zeigt sich, dass Recht und Inszenierung nicht unabhängig voneinander zu denken sind. Die Aufarbeitung dieses Spannungsfeldes vermag sowohl das Rechtsverständnis und den Blick auf die Inszenierung von Recht insgesamt als auch die Attraktivität des Modells ›Recht‹ für Theater, Literatur und bildende Kunst zu erhellen.
