Wilhelm Otto Frank, 1909 im deutschen Kaiserreich geboren, wuchs in Fürth auf, gehörte in der Weimarer Republik als Fachschüler dem Technischen Club Bavaria in Nürnberg an und schlug im Dritten Reich die Beamtenlaufbahn beim Straßen- und Flußbauamt in Weiden und Traunstein ein. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg arbeitete er als Regierungsbauinspektor unter der Organisation Todt im Ostland, wechselte zur Wehrmacht und hinterließ als Melder im Jäger-Regiment 204 am Kubanbrückenkopf 1943 ein letztes Lebenszeichen. Die Autorin ist die erste Enkelin von Wilhelm Frank. Anhand von Originaldokumenten, Fotos und genealogischen Aufzeichnungen rekonstruierte sie die vorliegende Biografie ihres in der Familie weitgehend unbekannten Großvaters. Schwerpunktmäßig beleuchtet sie seine Lebensgeschichte im Kontext nationalsozialistischer Zeitumstände. (AUT)
