Zwei Monate lang hat die Autorin dieser Aufzeichnungen, eine Deutsche Anfang 30, alles notiert, was sie am Ende des Krieges in Berlin 1945 erlebte: das Überleben der Frauen, Mädchen und Kinder in Kellern und Trümmerhäusern ohne Wasser und Strom, Hunger, die Ankunft der russischen Soldaten, fortwährende Vergewaltigungen, das nicht freiwillige Zusammenleben mit den Besatzern in provisorischen Behausungen, die Hilfe der Frauen untereinander. Sie selbst beginnt sehr bald ihr psychisches Überleben zu organisieren, indem sie sich einen "Leitwolf", einen Major der russischen Armee sucht, der ihr die vielen anderen "Iwans" vom Leibe hält. Der Autorin gelingen knappe, pointierte, dichte Beschreibungen ihres Alltags unter Extrembedingungen, geprägt von der Distanz, mit der sie Angst und Ekel im Schreiben zu beherrschen sucht. Dieses Tagebuch ist, neben der klar empfundenen Zeitzeugenschaft, der Text einer Bewältigung. Der Schriftsteller Marek (C.W. Ceram) konnte die Autorin nach Kriegsende zur Veröffentlichung bewegen; seiner Einschätzung der Einmaligkeit des Buches ist uneingeschränkt zuzustimmen. (2) (Barbara Dankert)
