Über 800 Alltagsfilme der Firma "Mitchell and Kenyon", die um 1900 von Wanderausstellern in Auftrag gegeben wurden, um sie auf Dorffesten und Jahrmärkten aufzuführen, wurden in den 1990er Jahren in Metalltrommeln unter dem Fußboden eines Foto-Ladens wiederentdeckt. Angepriesen als "Filme vom Ort für Menschen vor Ort", zahlte das Publikum dafür, seine Nachbarn,Kinder, Familien und sich selbst auf der Leinwand zu sehen. Auf der DVD findet sich ein Querschnitt aus 28 Stunden Rohmaterial - Straßenszenen, Arbeiter beim Verlassen der Fabrik, Tramfahrten, aber auch Fußballspiele (das erste gefilmte Match von Manchester United!) und andere Freizeitvergnügungen. 35 Filme in voller Länge - aufgeteilt in fünf Themengebiete: Jugend und Erziehung, Der englische Burenkrieg, Arbeiter, Festtage und Freizeit, Menschen und Plätze.Die Sammlung bietet eine unvergleichliche Möglichkeit, die Welt durch die Augen der damaligen Arbeiterklasse zu sehen. Mit 5 Extrafilmen, einem ausführlichen Bericht von den Restaurierungsarbeiten, der eigens eingespielten Musik des Sheffielder Duos "In the Nursery" u.v.m. (Absolut Medien)
