Ein ergreifender Kinofilm über die Entwicklung der taubblinden und geistig behinderten Ursula, ergänzt mit vielen Situationen aus dem Rhythmikunterricht und aus Begegnungen mit schwerst geistig- und körperlich behinderten Kindern und Erwachsenen. Ein grosses Dokument der Menschlichkeit. Als der Film 1966 in die Kinos kam, erregte er grosses Aufsehen, weil er nicht nur die Misstände von Behinderten-Betreuung aufzeigte, sondern auch demonstrierte, welche Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten in schwerstbehinderten Menschen angelegt sind. Ueberdies ist der Film ein historisches Dokument, weil er die Einzigartigkeit der Pädagogin Mimi Scheiblauer (1891-1968) bei ihrer Arbeit festhält und Auslöser war für eine schrittweise Verbesserung der Therapien und Behandlungsmethoden, nachdem sich die Wellen des Schocks, ja Skandals, als der Film ins Kino kam, geglättet hatten. Und: er zeigt den Mut der beiden Filmemacher, damals dieses Filmvorhaben auszuführen. (Artfilm)
