Dass »Hexenkinder« zu einem aktuellen Problem geworden sind, kommt für viele überraschend. Kinderhexenprozesse – das waren Hexenprozesse, die vor Jahrhunderten gegen Kinder geführt wurden. Aber wie früher in Europa spricht man heute in vielen Ländern Afrikas, Asiens und Amerikas von »Hexenkindern«. Dabei geht es nicht nur um Kinder, die von Erwachsenen manipuliert werden, sondern auch um solche, die sich als Straßenkinder der Autorität der Erwachsenenwelt entziehen und ihren eigenen Phantasien Ausdruck verleihen. Solche Kinderbanden ziehen Misstrauen auf sich und werden zu Projektionsflächen von Ängsten und Aggressionen. Noch heute werden in Teilen der Welt Straßenkinder als Hexen verfolgt. Das Buch enthält substantiell neue Beiträge zum Umgang mit Kindern in Hexenprozessen und jenseits von Hexenprozessen in Vergangenheit und Gegenwart und führt die bisher getrennten Themenbereiche Hexenkinder, Kinderbanden und Straßenkinder zusammen.
