    Content: Caribbean literature maintains a dual relationship with the culture of the former colonizers, hesitating between resistance and imitation, deterritorialization and reterritorialization, alienation and reinvention. Jamaica Kincaid’s connection with her literary and historical heritage is a dynamic one. Her writing is postcolonial in the political more than the historical sense. Like Kincaid herself, the characters explore the boundaries between filiation and affiliation, adopting strategies of reappropriation to respond to their alienation in their relationships with their mothers. Their reclaiming of their bodies leads to self-reinvention, and to the reappropriation of history and space. Kincaid herself searches for an artistic space in which to reinvent herself. She combines photography, painting, and gardening with writing, adopting different strategies for reappropriating and decolonizing language. She writes in the oppressor’s tongue and subverts it, combining different voices in the space of her texts. L’écriture caribéenne entretient un double rapport avec la culture des anciens colons, oscillant entre résistance et imitation, déterritorialisation et reterritorialisation, aliénation et réinvention. Jamaica Kincaid est dans une relation dynamique avec son héritage littéraire et historique. Son écriture se veut postcoloniale au sens politique plus qu’historique du terme. À l’instar de Kincaid elle-même, les personnages kincaidiens explorent les limites entre filiation et affiliation : face à l’aliénation de la jeune fille dans la relation à sa mère, elle met en place des stratégies de réappropriation. Réappropriation du corps, qui mène à la réinvention du moi, mais aussi réappropriation de l’histoire et de l’espace.     Content: This volume examines the evolution of the concept of diaspora since the advent of Diaspora Studies in the 90s, specifically vis-à-vis other concepts: transnationalism, cosmopolitanism, creolization. Building on transatlantic, gender studies and queer theory, they address the theoretical turn when sexual difference is taken into account and gender troubled. It finds in literature and film tools to think the ‘super-diversity’ and the contradictions of our global world. Ce volume est un état des lieux de l’évolution du concept de diaspora depuis l’avènement des études diasporiques dans les années quatre-vingt-dix, et plus particulièrement, de son questionnement face à d’autres concepts : transnationalisme, cosmopolitisme et créolisation. Il décrit les discontinuités de l’expérience diasporique, mais également les négociations en cours. Fort de l’apport des études transatlantiques, de genre et de la théorie queer, il rend compte de l’infléchissement théorique lorsque le sexe est pris en compte ou que le genre se trouble.     Content: 'Transport' is a delightfully open word; adding an 's' to the original makes it even more interesting. The participants in the Conference which was organized on this topic by the Cerpac, early November 2005 at the Université Paul-Valéry, Montpellier (France), explored several facets of the word. They started with 'Means of transport', in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They then moved to 'Forced transport', which dealt with West African slaves, Tasmanian Aborigines, Indo-Caribbean women and Japanese-Canadians. 'Travel' offered some gentler kind of transport, from India to South Carolina and the Tongan Islands. And the very same word offered a way of 'Crossing Borders' with the symbolism in Salman Rushdie's or V.S. Naipaul's novels, or the transfer of mentalities in the 18th century. All in all, we covered a lot of ground from beginning to end. And now, readers, just allow yourselves to be. . . transported
