The objective of this thesis is the study and publication of the aljamiado morisque manuscript number 57 of the Junta para Ampliacion de Estudios of the CSIC Madrid. This is an anonymous manuscript from the 16th century (1587) which is part of a collection of one hundred and fifty manuscripts which were discovered in Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza) in 1884. It is primarily composed of narrative texts of a religious nature and is divided into seven “chapters” (three narratives about the lives of prophets, one about the day of judgment and three wonderful tales and also a “tradition” about fasting. All of these texts excluding the latter share a common theme: the futility of life and the last judgment. Given the multitude of possibilities regarding this manuscript, it was necessary to limit the scope of this study and yet approach the subject from a new perspective ( studying the translation and the narratology) in order to avoid reproducing an umpteenth edition which would confine itself to a mere linguistic study. Our work will be divided into three main parts: 1 The study of the manuscript. A formal description preceded by a summary of each narrative as well as the biblical references, Koranic or, literary, while contextualizing it with other manuscripts. This part will end with a study about the translation. 2The study of the narratives: this part is divided into three chapters: a) Analysis of the different themes and genres in the J 57 compared to other aljamiados manuscripts. b)The study of the enunciation (the connection between the oral and written tradition, the narrative instance. c) The study of textual categories (space, time, character). 3 The publication of the manuscript: transcribing it into Latin characters, followed by a list of vocabulary (common nouns, proper nouns and Arabic phrases). A bibliography (list of works referred to) figures at the end of the volume
