Der interdisziplinäre Sammelband nimmt die wechselseitige Beeinflussung und Dependenz von Erzählen und Architektur in den Fokus und bezieht dabei unterschiedliche Formen erzählender Medien in die Untersuchungen mit ein. Das Verhältnis von Erzählen und Architektur wird dabei primär aus zwei oppositionären Perspektiven beleuchtet: In den Beiträgen finden sich sowohl Untersuchungen zur erzählerischen Darstellung und Integration von Architektur in Literatur und Medien, als auch zur Art und Weise, wie Architekten in beziehungsweise von ihren Werken erzählen. Dabei beleuchten die Beiträge insbesondere, wie unmittelbar beide Aspekte im Hinblick auf Motivik, Symbolik, Struktur, Semantik usw. aufeinander referieren.
