Der Prozeß der Enkulturation, die Ausbildung kultureller Lebensformen, beginnt zu allen Zeiten und in allen Gesellschaften in der frühen Ontogenese eines jeden Gattungsmitgliedes. Das ist der anthropologischen Verfassung zufolge eine unabweisbare Notwendigkeit. Die Gesellschaft als systemische Einheit aller kulturell geschaffenen Lebensformen kann sich deshalb nur in der Verlängerung der ontogenetisch gewonnenen Kompetenzen gebildet haben. Diese Einsicht ist, wenn man so will, das Schibboleth einer historisch genetischen Theorie. Bernd Nicolaisen knüpft in der hier vorgelegten Arbeit mit den beiden Leitfragen seiner Untersuchung an diese Einsicht an. Er fragt: Wie ist Erkenntnis möglich? Und er fragt weiter: Wie ist Sozialtät möglich? Die Pointe an diesen Fragen ist, daß sie gemeinsam gestellt werden und eine durch die andere beantwortet werden soll. Auch wenn man annehmen wollte, daß die erste Frage durch die Arbeiten von Piaget zumindest in den Grundlagen geklärt sei, das Junktim zwischen beiden würde dazu nötigen, auch die erste Frage noch einmal aufzuwerfen. Tatsächlich ist auch die Frage nach den Bedingungen der Erkenntnis nicht wirklich beantwortet, so bahnbrechend die Arbeiten Jean Piagets sind. Es ist bekannt, daß Piaget die Sozialität im Bildungsprozeß der Strukturen der Erkenntnis geradezu systematisch vernachlässigt hat. Er wußte selbstredend, daß der Prozeß ein sozialer Prozeß ist; systematisch hat er dieses 5 Wissen jedoch nicht umgesetzt. Der Anspruch der Arbeit von Bernd Nicolaisen ist deshalb, beide Fragen a) im Kontext und b) unter der dezidiert soziologischen Perspektive im Blick auf den sozialen Bedingungszusammenhang zu erörtern
