Repräsentative Konzerte aus drei Epochen sind auf dieser Einspielung vereint: Der französische Komponist François-Adrien Boieldieu machte eigentlich mit über 40 Opernkompositionen von sich reden, das Harfenkonzert C-Dur schuf er wahrscheinlich im Jahr 1800 unter dem Einfluss und der Bekanntschaft zu Sébastien Érard, der um diese Zeit an der Entwicklung der Doppelpedalmechanik der Harfe tüftelte. 1904 komponierte Claude Debussy seine Deux danses für Harfe und Streichorchester, mehr als fünfzig Jahre später (1956) kombiniert der argentinische Komponist Alberto Ginastera in seinem Harfenkonzert folkloristische Elemente mit seiner vielschichtigen farbigen, modernen Tonsprache. Die junge Harfenistin Anaïs Gaudemard ist in allen Epochen hörbar zu Hause, bestens unterstützt vom Orchestre de l'Opéra de Rouen unter Leo Hussain.
