Konzeptionell und preislich ähnlich wie die DK-Reihe "Wissen mit Links" (zuletzt BA 4/07) präsentiert sich "Expedition Wissen" (die ersten 4 Bände siehe BA 5/07). Die DK-Reihe ist ausführlicher als diese, die reihen-eigene Homepage übersichtlicher. In der Ravensburger-Reihe sind mehr Spiel-Elemente zu finden, sie richtet sich insgesamt an eine jüngere Zielgruppe. Im vorliegenden Band werden von der Urknall-Theorie über Uranus, Mars und Co bis hin zur Raumfahrt und der mythologischen Bedeutung der Sternbilder dennoch viele Einzelheiten angesprochen. Die komplizierten Vorgänge werden relativ einfach beschrieben, auch wenn teilweise noch mehr erklärende Zeichnungen wünschenswert wären. Viele Sätze beginnen mit einer Konjunktion und wirken daher abgehackt, aber dies stört den erwachsenen Leser sicher mehr als die Kinder selbst. Positiv fällt auf, dass auch auf aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse eingegangen wird. Wer sich nach all der Theorie selbst als Himmelsforscher versuchen will, dem sei "Komm, entdecke die Sterne!" (BA 10/06) empfohlen. Auch vorliegender Band ist überall möglich. . - Wissenswertes über die Planeten, Sterne und andere Himmelskörper sowie über die Raumfahrt.
