Zehn Titel aus der "199 Dinge"-Reihe gibt es in der Zwischenzeit (zuletzt "199 Dinge am Meer", ID-A 20/19). Unter verschiedenen Überschriften findet man landwirtschaftliche Fahrzeuge und Geräte, Tiere (Nutz- und Waldtiere), Pflanzen, Gemüse, Früchte und Produkte aus dem Hofladen. Die Kategorie "In der Küche" ist wohl ein bisschen weit hergeholt und nicht wirklich ein spezifisches Merkmal für einen Bauernhof (auch wenn es sicherlich auf jedem Hof eine gibt!). Der Begriff "Bildwörterbuch" passt wahrscheinlich am besten auf dieses Buch. Kleine Abbildungen, alle neben- und untereinander angeordnet, füllen die Seiten. Sie sind mit Untertiteln versehen, in denen das "Ding" benannt wird. Dabei finden sich ganz gängige Begriffe wie Schwein, Mähdrescher oder Kartoffel. Dass der Usborne Verlag aber auf einem internationalen Markt tätig ist, merkt man an anderen Begriffen: Baumwollerntemaschine, Limetten, Olivenbäume, Süßkartoffeln, Hirse- oder Reispflanzen findet man auf Bauernhöfen hierzulande eher weniger. Eine preiswerte Bestandsergänzung, die in der Masse der zahlreichen Titel zum Thema mitschwimmt. Inge Kliemt
