Nach und nach wird deutlich, wie die wachsende Zahl von Menschen und die damit verbundenen Lebens- und Konsumeinflüsse die Klimaveränderungen in einem Mass beschleunigen, dass davon massive Gefährdungen für die Zukunft ausgehen. Die damit verbundenen Fragen und möglichen Massnahmen stehen vor allem in den letzten drei Kapiteln des Buches im Mittelpunkt. Es gelingt dem Autor, naturwissenschaftliche Zusammenhänge spannend zu beschreiben. Grafiken lockern die grossen Textmengen auf. Insgesamt hilft das Buch eher bei einem vertiefenden Verstehen, wobei das riesige Thema nicht lückenlos erschlossen werden kann. Übersichtlicher und konzentrierter auf den Punkt gebracht werden die wichtigsten Zusammenhänge zum Klimawandel in "Wie viel wärmer ist 1 Grad".
