In the first decades of the 20th century, Rio de Janeiro underwent intense transformations, which changed the profile of the city, which expanded and became vertical. Many foreign professionals, mainly European, were part of this process of modernization and construction of the urban landscape of Rio de Janeiro. This book examines the contribution of some of these architects, through their biographies and the analysis of some of the remaining buildings, seeking to give visibility to the process of circulation of ideas and cultural exchanges in that period. During the first decades of the Twentieth Century, Rio de Janeiro through intense transformations that changed the city's profile, which was expanded and verticalized.
