Der Autor, der mit seinem Titel "Yoda ich bin! Alles ich weiss" schon Kultstatus erreicht hat, schreibt hier eine genau gegensätzliche Geschichte, die im 19. Jahrhundert auf einem englischen Schloss spielt: Es beginnt damit, dass auf Schloss Eigenbrötl die ekelhafte Hausherrin Lady Luggertuck, die ansonsten nur ihr Personal drangsaliert, etwas Unaussprechliches tut: Sie lockert ihr Korsett. Deshalb kommt das geordnete Leben auf dem Schloss total durcheinander. Die Lady ist sogar so gut gelaunt, dass sie einen Ball plant und die hinreissende Celia dazu einlädt, da sich ihr schrecklicher Sohn in sie verliebt hat. Davon profitiert vor allem der überaus gutmütige Küchenjunge Horton Halfpott, der eigentliche Held der Geschichte. Als aber dann der berühmte Familienschatz, der Luggertuck'sche Klumpen, verschwindet, wird der bekannte Detektiv St. Pomfritt beauftragt, den Fall zu lösen. Ob Yoda-Fans diese schräge Nonsensegeschichte mit kriminalistischem Einschlag gefallen wird, ist fraglich, aber für Philip-Ardagh-Anhänger ist sie auf jeden Fall, auch für Erwachsene, empfehlenswert.
