Die Ultraschallprüfung ist ein wichtiges Verfahren der zerstörungsfreien Werkstoffprüfung und hat in der Industrie vielfältige Anwendungen gefunden. Aufbauend auf einer eingehenden Darstellung der theoretischen Grundlagen der Schallerzeugung und der Gerätetechnik beschreiben die Autoren den derzeitigen Stand der Anwendungstechnik. Darüber hinaus kommen die Aspekte der Qualitätssicherung und die Abgrenzung gegenüber anderen Verfahren ausführlich zur Sprache. Das Buch besticht durch seine klare und gut verständliche Ausdrucksweise. Viele Abbildungen illustrieren den Text und erleichtern das Verständnis. DIE AUTOREN Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Deutsch studierte Maschinenbau an der RWTH Aachen, promovierte an der TU Hannover und ist Honorarprofessor an der Universität Dortmund. Seit 1961 leitet er als geschäftsführender Gesellschafter die Fa. Karl Deutsch, Prüf- und Meßgerätebau GmbH & Co. KG, Wuppertal. Dr. rer. nat. Michael Platte studierte Physik an der RWTH Aachen und promovierte dort am Institut für Technische Akustik auf dem Gebiet der Ultraschallwandler-Technik. 1985 trat er in die Fa. Karl Deutsch ein und leitete zunächst die Prüfkopfentwicklung und -fertigung, später zusätzlich die Entwicklung elektronischer Seriengeräte. Als Technischer Geschäftsführer ist er seit 1994 für den Bereich Serienprodukte technisch gesamtverantwortlich. Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Vogt studierte Fernmeldetechnik an der RWTH Aachen. Seit 1966 leitet er bei der Fa. Karl Deutsch.
