Infotext der Veranstalter: Seit über 15 Jahren findet das zentrale Gesprächsforum zur DDR-Vergangenheit in Nordostdeutschland nun statt. Ausgangs- und zentraler Bezugspunkt sind die Schicksale der politischen Häftlinge aus dem Bützower Strafvollzug während der sowjetischen Besatzungszeit und der SED-Herrschaft. Mit dieser regelmäßigen Tagung richten wir den Blick auf Existenzbedingungen und Funktionsweisen diktatorischer Herrschaft, um Demokratie, Offenheit und Selbstverantwortung in der Gegenwart zu stärken. Eine Vielzahl an historischen Themen wurde dabei auf dem jeweils neusten Stand der Forschung vorgestellt, diskutiert und oftmals im Zusammenhang mit konkreten Erfahrungen gespiegelt. In der 15. Ausgabe des Forums begeben wir uns nun ganz bewusst auf die "Meta-Ebene" der Geschichtsforschung und stellen die Zukunft des Erinnerns in den Mittelpunkt. Wir werden die Bedeutung von Zeitzeugen hinterfragen, da absehbar ist, dass diese nicht auf Dauer zur Verfügung stehen. Rechtzeitig genug müssen daher die Bezüge zwischen Geschichtsschreibung und persönlichen Erinnerungen geklärt werden. Dafür lernen wir verschiedene Geschichtsformate in unterschiedlichen Medien kennen, haben Koryphäen der Erinnerungskultur und Geschichtsdidaktik, wie Prof. Dr. Martin Sabrow und Dr. Juliane Brauer, eingeladen und werden einmal mehr mit dem Bützower Gymnasium Zeitzeugengespräche gestalten. Darüber hinaus bieten wir mit der Lesung von Uwe Kolbe und dem im Reformationsjahr passenden Vortrag über die Bedeutung der Reformation ein anregendes Rahmenprogramm an.
