Auch heute noch wird das Verhältnis von Deutschen und Polen von Vorurteilen und Ressentiments bestimmt. Um das ambivalente Verhältnis zu ergründen, besuchte ein deutscher Filmemacher zwei Sommer lang das Nachbarland, während ein polnischer Dokumentarfilmer nach Deutschland kam. Einzige Vorgabe des von der Berliner Akademie der Künste initiierten Projekts war eine unbewegte Kamera während der Dreharbeiten. So entstand ein kommentarloser Dialog von 25 Bildpaaren, der den Blick auf scheinbar fremde Länder richtet. Ein filmischer Dialog in 25 Bildpaaren, quasi über den nachbarschaftlichen Zaun zwischen Deutschland und Polen hinweg geplaudert. Es gibt keine Handlung und keine Protagonisten, aber es gibt die Bühne des Lebens, die Komik und Poesie des Alltags und die Freiheit des Schauens.
