Obwohl die Autoren bemüht sind, "nur die allerwichtigsten Informationen" über Ethik zu vermitteln, gehen sie so gründlich und umfassend und zugleich mit einer gewissen Nonchalance zu Werke, dass sie dem Titel "Ethik für Dummies" alle Ehre geben - geradeso, als rechneten sie tatsächlich mit begriffsstutzigen Lesern. Sie erläutern Grundlagen und Wurzeln der Ethik, fragen nach dem Zusammenhang von Ethik, Religion und Wissenschaft, gehen auf berühmte Kritiken der Ethik ein (Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Taoismus) und diskutieren relevante ethische Theorien von "Tugendethik" bis hin zur Ethik im Alltag. Im letzten Teil stellen sie bekannte Ethiker und ihre Theorien vor und setzen sich mit möglichen Dilemmas der Zukunft auseinander. Dabei diskutieren sie eine Fülle von Problemen wie Abtreibung, Klonen, Umweltschutz und stellen brisante Fragen, z.B. "Darf man einen Mörder anlügen?", "Gefährdet Klonen die Individualität?" Es tauchen viele Namen auf. Nicht alle dürften bekannt sein wie "Menzgi, Xunzi, Mozi". Trotz einiger Mängel hilfreich. Mit einem umfangreichen Stichwortverzeichnis. (2)
