Liegt hier Kriminalkommissar Schröder die Lösung dieses Falls quasi vor den Füßen? Doch das nicht mehr ganz junge und nicht besonders attraktive "Fräulein" Franzen, das nun ohne Bewusstsein im Krankenhaus liegt, gibt dem attraktiven aber einsamen Kommissar Rätsel auf. Denn anscheinend hält sie seit Jahren regen Kontakt zu Hunderten von alleinstehenden Herren, aber es scheint keiner der Geschädigten darunter zu sein. Und je mehr er sich mit dem umfangreichen Schriftwechsel befasst, umso klarer wird: Hier hat er es mit einer zutiefst einsamen Frau auf der Suche nach ein bisschen Glück zu tun. Und was wäre er für ein Polizist, wenn er da nicht ein paar Fäden ziehen und ein bisschen nachhelfen könnte? Der anrührende und amüsante Roman kann (trotz kleinerer logischer Brüche) breit empfohlen werden.
