"Ramsden's contribution consists of double-page spreads from Roget's Thesaurus ... These have been printed in negative after the evenly numbered categories have been struck out ... Burn's accompanying text is entitled 'Holding system for 6 negatives' and discusses the problems of readymade ... and of the Thesaurus as an epistemological example. Burn's essay functions as a self-contained text ... but it also connects to Ramsden's images ... The revealed duality of Roget's system is given an image when the two parts of this collaboration are considered together. In Six negatives the noise of the machine becomes the noise of thought, or rather, its printed representation." Alex Selenitsch, Australian artists books (2008) p.22
