Zusätzlich zu den üblichen Einführungen werden hier nun auch die allgemeingültigen Funktionen einer Nähmaschine (hier natürlich von Singer) beschrieben. Danach folgen 6 aufeinander aufbauende Lektionen, in denen zunächst die verwendeten Techniken erklärt und anschließend die dazu passenden Projekte angeleitet werden. Viele Fotos zeigen die Entstehung, die zugehörigen Texte geben die wichtigsten Erklärungen, der Schwierigkeitsgrad liegt häufig bei leicht oder mittelschwer. Die Objektauswahl bietet die üblichen Ideen, wie z.B. Kissen, Rucksack, Nadelkissen (super-niedliche Eule!), Rock oder Schürze. Die Ideen eignen sich teilweise durch andere Stoffwahl auch für Jungs, doch wird der Titel insgesamt aufgrund der Modelle und die durchaus attraktive, jedoch mädchenhafte Buchgestaltung eher Mädels ansprechen. Die DVD bietet Videos der Grundtechniken sowie Schnittmustervorlagen. Der Informationsgehalt ist mit anderen altersentsprechenden Veröffentlichungen vergleichbar, "Durchstarten an der Nähmaschine" (ID-A 52/14) bietet hierbei jedoch ein klein wenig mehr.
