Legal ist das nicht, aber für ein Schutzgeld von 20 % der Einnahmen drückt die Miliz beide Augen zu. Das sorgfältig ausbalancierte Gleichgewicht zwischen Bevölkerung und Miliz gerät ins Wanken, als nach einem Verkehrsunfall zwischen der Miliz und einem Jäger, der sich weigert, Schutzgeld zu bezahlen, ein bewaffneter Konflikt ausbricht und der stellvertretende Milizchef eine Moskauer Spezialeinheit anfordert. Der russische Autor Viktor Remizov (geb.1958) weiss, worüber er schreibt, er hat in der Taiga gearbeitet und kennt die Gegend und das Metier. Sein Roman gibt einen so authentischen wie faszinierenden Einblick in Landschaften und Milieus, aber auch in die russische Gegenwart abseits der Grossstädte. Ab mittleren Beständen sehr empfohlen
