Seit rund 40 Jahren ist der Strafvollzug in Deutschland auf das Ziel der Resozialisierung ausgerichtet. Das Strafvollzugsgesetz fordert einen „Behandlungsvollzug“, und alle Länder, die seit der Föderalismusreform eigene Gesetze eingeführt haben, halten daran fest. Damit entsprechen sie nicht zuletzt den Anforderungen des Grundgesetzes, die das Bundesverfassungsgericht bereits in den 1970er-Jahren herausgearbeitet hat, bevor das Strafvollzugsgesetz des Bundes in Kraft getreten ist. Doch wie weit reichen die Möglichkeiten der Behandlung? Wie wirksam ist Behandlung bei unterschiedlichen Gruppen von Gefangenen? Welche Erfahrungen können verallgemeinert werden? Welche neuen Anforderungen sind zu berücksichtigen? Das sind einige der Fragen, die mit einer Tagung der KrimZ aufgegriffen wurden, die im November 2015 in Wiesbaden stattgefunden hat.
