Das sehr schön gestaltete kleine, schmale Bändchen lässt in 8 kurzen Kapiteln den brasilianischen Architekten Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012) zu Wort kommen. Der Mitbegründer der modernen Architektur war überzeugter Marxist und hat sich zeitlebens für eine gerechtere Gesellschaft eingesetzt. In den Beiträgen setzt er sich mit Kunst, Schönheit und Fantasie, aber auch mit Politik und Gesellschaft auseinander und berichtet von Begegnungen mit persönlichen Vorbildern wie Sartre, Fidel Castro oder Che Guevara. Der italienische Journalist Alberto Riva hat dieses Büchlein, das aus persönlichen Gesprächen mit Oscar Niemeyer in dessen Heimat hervorging, verfasst. Von ihm stammt auch das Nachwort, das auf interessante Weise das Werk des bedeutenden Architekten reflektiert.
